History
I began my electrical career working part-time
with my father while in high school in the 60's.
I worked as an electrician, foreman
and project manager on several large commercial and industrial projects for a contractor
in Iowa, moved to Colorado in 1982 (just in time for the oil bust) and started an
electrical contracting business in 1985.
Owning my own business spurred my interest in doing jobs better and faster and I found wise use of tools to be the best way to do that. Although many of the tools I built were
for specific installations some of them had more general application.
The first of these was the Wire Wheel, designed with my brothers (who own a residential
electrical business) in 1990 to fill the need for a portable romex dispenser. I added a larger size in 1993 to dispense AC/MC cable and the larger sizes of romex.
The Bendcart came about in 1999 to eliminate the huge amounts of time I was wasting setting
up and tearing down my old 885T 4" bender. It seemed to take 2 hours to set up and (then put back in the box) and about 2 minutes to make a bend.
2002 produced a solution to several of the problems associated with portable bandsaws with
the introduction of the bandsaw table and tristand adapter.
In 2006, responding to a contractor, I developed a wire cart that was heavy duty, easy
to load, and could be folded up to take a minimum amount of space in his van.
I still spend time in the field, on a regular basis, using our products and prototypes in real
life situations. Your suggestions for new products or ways to improve existing ones are always
appreciated.
Philosophy
I believe that the wise use of quality tools is one of the most
effective ways to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
I believe that "Made in the U.S.A." has value, both to the customer
and to the future of our country. Therefore, I will continue to search
for ways to produce quality products and services at competitive prices
here in the U.S.
I believe that America is the greatest nation on earth because it has
been blessed by God, that its opportunities are unmatched anywhere, and
that the gift of living here should not be squandered or taken for granted.
I believe that I, as a Christian, must not only answer to you, the
customer, for the products and services I provide, but that I must also
answer to Jesus Christ, the Master of my business and my life.
